  • The Wolds Wagoners

In the 1980s, Willerby Film Club made an 8mm film capturing the memories of three Wagoners from the East Riding of Yorkshire, who all recall signing up, mobilisation, and their experiences of the Mons Retreat during WW1.  Thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, YFA were able to undertake vital restoration work on the only surviving copy, a poor-quality VHS tape, and the story of the Wagoners can be told once again.

  • Vote 100: Born a Rebel

Both YFA and NEFA are very excited to be working in partnership with Cinema For All and North West Film Archive, as part of the Vote 100: Born a Rebel campaign, and to share the official trailer for our newly-commissioned short film of the same name.

Featuring wonderful footage from the Yorkshire, North East and North West Film Archives, the film was made in response to the lack of women's voices in archives.
