Favourite Film

I have a passion for urban history and architecture on film so my current favourite has to be the promotional film by Dorman, Long & Co. Building of the New Tyne Bridge made in 1928. The bridge is a fantastic iconic structure of the North East but what’s really marvellous about this film is the focus on the workers who seem to defy gravity constructing the bridge, balancing on girders high above Newcastle, no fear, no hard hats!
