She and her daughter visits the companies office in Sunderland and are taken a tour of the Burnhope Reservoir and Ryhope Pumping Station to show the work the company does to make sure she gets ‘crystal clear’ water through her taps.
A promotional film produced by The Charter Film Group to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the granting of a Charter to Hartlepool by King John in 1201. The film documents services provided by Hartlepool Council such as housing, emergency services, transport, and leisure facilities. Footage includes material on the local industries shipbuilding, fishing and magnesium production in the Hartlepool area.
This promotional film was made for Gilbert Ash (Northern) Ltd., Darlington, and features footage of the opening of six blocks of high-rise council flats at Shieldfield in Newcastle upon Tyne, April 1961. The opening section contains shots of the interiors of the new tower blocks. The remainder of the film is a work study that shows the planning, design and construction of the high rise flats and the techniques used to reduce the time in construction of multistory housing. The footage is accompanied by voice-over that describes the planning and construction stages in detail.

An industrial film that shows the construction, opening and extended use of the Derwent Reservoir in County Durham. The film includes the opening of the reservoir by Princess Alexandra in July 1967 and then goes on to examine the reasons for building it and some of the technical innovations and difficulties that had to be developed or overcome. The film ends showing how the reservoir, as well as providing water for the region has also developed into a leisure facility with fishing and sailing now well established.
