This film documents a carnival as it processes through the streets of Eccleshill, Bradford and provides a good example of the types of carnivals that were common during the 1920s. The procession includes many decorated floats as well as participants in fancy dress.
As part of the Sharp collection this film shows various branches of Sharp's Linoleum shops including one in Halifax. There are some excellent shots of streets, cars and fashions of the time. The second part of the film shows a staff Christmas party held at the Great Northern Victoria Hotel in Bradford.
On 31st August, Odsal Stadium, Bradford hosted the 1985 World Speedway Final to a crowd of 37,000 who saw the regaining world champion, Erik Gundersen from Denmark, retain his title. This film includes footage of the day's events as well as scenes of the crowd who turned out for the event. Erik Gundersen (born 8 October 1959, in Esbjerg, Denmark) was a speedway rider in the late 1970s and 1980s. Gundersen was the Speedway World Championship on three occasions including this race in 1985.
This film is from the Hainsworth collections and contains footage of family holidays to Switzerland as well as family events and weddings in the 1960s and 1970s. There are many good examples of fashion from the time.
'Random Recordings' is the first title of this film made by Eric Hall, a keen amateur cinematographer from West Yorkshire. This film consists of a variety of brief scenes and images which he took beginning in 1929 and mostly includes footage of his family and friends during their leisure and travel time. Also included in this film is footage from the York Mystery Plays which were performed at the Museum Gardens in 1951.
In 1959, the Vespa Club of Britain’s National Rally was held in Leeds. This film documents some of the events from that day and includes very well shot scenes of Vespa scooters as well as good examples women’s fashions.
This is a film of Leeds Children's Day, beginning with a procession through Leeds led by the Gala Queen, and finishing at Roundhay Park. In Roundhay Park there is a baby competition, a children's fancy dress competition, track events, country dancing and a fair.

It features several events in Leeds area during 1974 including the Lord Mayor's Parade, the celebration of the bi-centenary of Bingley Locks, Leeds Caribbean Carnival, the Model Boat World Championship, an air display and Morecombe Illuminations.
This film documents the time right before the Albion Mills staff leave Wakefield for their trip to Scarborough. Many of the staff can be seen loading into busses waiting for the trip to begin.
This film, made by the West Riding Constabulary film unit, documents a courtesy rally in Dewsbury, 1953. The film initially captures the road rally, which involves a checkpoint time trial through Dewsbury. The final segment then shows vehicle and drivers tests, which include braking tests, manoeuvrability tests, and parking tests.
