The DVD, presented by Bradfordian, Christa Ackroyd, tells the story of the people, places, industries, traditions, celebrations, major events and everyday working lives across the decades, all captured on film and revealed once again for everyone to see and enjoy.

    Rewinding The Welfare State - our North East on Film partnership screening tour with Ben Lamb from Teesside University got off to a great start in September!

    Enthusiastic packed out audiences the region over have been gripped by the tears, laughter, and inspiration provided by north eastern stories of hardship from the 1920s to today.

  • Yorkshire Day 2019

    YFA have teamed up with the York BID to bring the rich film heritage of the city to the big screen, especially for Yorkshire Day 2019. The team here at the YFA have curated a special selection of short films from our vaults for you to watch on a giant screen in St Sampson’s Square on August 1st, from 10am – 1pm, then 2:30pm to 7pm, and it’s free.
