The film opens with a shot of expansive countryside and a female voice over describes the water shortage, which has been caused by one of the hottest summers for two hundred years. There are then shots of Ladybower Reservoir near Sheffield, evidently far below its normal capacity. The filmmaker cuts to show a stone war memorial dedicated to the men of Derwent village who fought in the Great War. The voice over states that these villagers were alive when the reservoir flooded the village in 1945. There are further shots of the reservoir and the voice over comments that it has almost dried up. The filmmaker captures people walking across the dry areas of the reservoir. Cutting to another reservoir, Woodhead Dam, which is said by the voice to be completely dry, the camera illustrates this with expansive views of the empty dams. Title - Vixen.
