Description

This is a British Movietone film featuring a visiting German party and a group from Ripon "combine to give alfresco entertainment" after a civic welcome. The entertainment includes choral singing, folk dancing, and Morris dancing.

The film opens with the following title - Song and Dance Act Performed at Ripon English and German party combine to give alfresco entertainment after mayoral welcome.

The Ripon Hornblower begins the ceremonies. This is followed by a mayoral procession to the town square. Folk dancers move into the square for a performance. A crowd has gathered to watch the events and is lined up around the square. On the road in the background a Royal Daylights Pratts truck passes by.
The folk dancing performance is followed by a string and woodwinds band playing and accompanying the choir. The Lord Mayor gives a brief speech before the choir performs. The film closes with further dance performances.
