The film begins with a man on a boat trying to get the engine started with a pull cord. This is followed by early examples of water skiing on a river with houses in the background. There are scenes of the seaside at Sandsend in addition to the family in the garden. A steam engine and coaches cross a viaduct at Sandsend, and there are scenes of Whitby Harbour including a Punch and Judy show on the beach.
