Part of the Bradford City Police collection, this film documents a sports day at the Police Orphanage in Harrogate as well as the annual inspection in Peel Park.

Title - Money is provided from the club funds for children at the Police Orphanage, Harrogate, to engage in friendly rivalry.

There is a panning shot of the buildings, and the boys emerge, all dressed in their sports uniforms. They are followed by the girls who march out. All the children are gathered together on the steps of the main building, the youngest seated at the front. They disperse, and the games begin including collection potatoes, hurdles, three - legged races, running, and skipping. There is a close-up of a loudspeaker atop a car with a commentator announcing event information from the front seat. This is followed by a wheelbarrow race. There is a shot of the police band, and members of the clarinet section race each other, having to play their instruments on the way back. Other musicians also take part.

Title - It is not all play because once each year, His Majesty's Inspector comes to the city to test the efficiency of the force, and for part of the test they have to perform on the drill ground.

HMI inspects the force, walking through the officers who stand in formation. There are also mobile units whose officers stand by their open-top police cars. Members of the force then go on parade.

Title - This is part of the training of a young policeman.

There are shots of a vaulting display followed by a close up of the HMI. The gymnasts then march around the field.

Title - Some people think that the City of Bradford Police march like guardsmen. What do you think?

In tight formation, the police march in the parade which includes a brass band. There is also an elderly photographer which can be seen. The film ends with shots of the dignitaries who have turned out for the event.
