This film contains footage of Princess Mary, Viscountess Lascelles, to Castleford to unveil the War Memorial, open the maternity home at Normanton and District Cottage Hospital, and to open Castleford Public market.

Title-Visit to Castleford of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mary Viscountess Lascelles.

Title-Opening of Castleford War Memorial Maternity Home Castleford, Normanton and District hospital.

The film opens with shots of the crowds holding up a decorated banner which reads `Welcome to our Princess'.

Title-Her Royal Highness arrives at Castleford Bridge.

The Viscount and the Princess arrive by car at Castleford Bridge where a mounted police officer rides along beside their car, and the large crowds lining the street are visible.

Title-At the War Memorial Maternity Home.

Following this, they go to the War Memorial and Maternity Home where they are greeted by the local dignitaries; the Viscount cuts the ribbon and there are shots of the crowds, including a group of nurses with flags.

Title-At the Castleford and Normanton District Hospital.

They then leave for the hospital, and Princess Mary helps to plant a tree in the grounds by shovelling soil onto the roots. Speeches are given and crowds cheer for the Princess. The film ends with shots of a football team and crowds of children.
