This sponsored film is a record of the launch of the SS Tofo from William Gray's yard in Hartlepool for the Chilean CSAV (Compañía Sudamericana de Vapores on the 14 September 1951.

Opening shot is of the Chilean national flag followed by:

Guests climb a walkway to the launch platform. The main guest, Madam Bianchi, is presented with flowers. She talks with Sir William Gray who is wearing a suit and hat. A number of altar boys help the priest in the blessing ceremony.

The Reverend Dunne blesses the ship.

She smashes the bottle of champagne on the bow of the ship. The ship slips into the river.

The film cuts to a shot of a large mock-tudor style house with an extensive garden. Guests dine in a large marquee. Speeches are given. Outside, a large group of guests pose for the camera. They then walk around the garden.
