With having to revert to making Ryvita crackers during the period of sweet rationing, Rowntree’s had little to promote in 1945. But they make the most of what they can with this whimsical cinema advert demonstrating how to make chocolate jumbles with their cocoa powder.

As four novice pastry cooks begin preparations to make their chocolate jumbles.  The advert is accompanied by some bouncy music, and the chief chef, who speaks with French accent, shows the cook how it is to be done.  Using the ingredients of sugar, margarine, golden syrup, flour, baking powder, ground ginger and Rowntree’s cocoa, he mixes it together and rolls out the jumbles.
