The film takes place during the Second World War and is accompanied by a witty commentary. The film opens with an elderly man, Mr Clamp of Yorkshire, picking up some jam jars. He then cements together to make a greenhouse entirely made of jam jars - 1,800 in total - standing 9' by 5' 6". Inside the finished greenhouse, Mr Clamp inspects his plants.
