Film ID: YFA 2802 HOLIDAY IN TORQUAY DEVON 1959-1960 Visitor TabsDescription This family holiday film features a picnic, sight seeing around Bolton Abbey, and play at the beach. Much of the rest of the film shows scuba divers in many places including Linton Locks Grimsby Docks, as well as the York Branch of the BSAC at the River Ouse. The film begins with a family picnic round a few cars. It then moves onto a site seeing trip around the ruins of Bolton Abbey followed by a day at the beach with views from the cliffs and people playing in the ocean. The next part of the film, labelled 'Scrap film of 1960,' begins with a Rally of Boats featuring larger boats and row boats, crowd shots, and possible naval group exercises. The York Branch of the BSAC can be seen, complete in scuba gear, as they enter the river Ouse. Busy Day at Linton Locks features what appears to be some sort of construction on the Locks as well as scuba divers, other workers, and people fishing. Visit to Grimsby Docks opens with a few sailboat shots, more scuba diving scenes, and some fun in the sun as people relax on the beach.
