Description

This is a film documenting the High Green County Secondary School visit to Edinburgh which was taken by a member of staff.

The film begins with scenes of the Chapeltown South Railway Station, located near Sheffield, showing the steam train pull in and the children board.

There are long shots of the Forth Bridge at Queensferry in Scotland and good views as they cross the river by boat, the grounds and architectural features at Holyroad Palace are shown before the action moves to the zoo.

There are some close ups of the animals such as a zebra and kangaroo before the trip takes in a bus tour and shows long shots of the gardens.

The final passage shows Sports Day 1954, and through longs shots and close ups, the film records views of the track and field events such a relay and discus, competitors and crowds.
