This short film shows aspects of agriculture and country life in the Yorkshire Dales including Horton - flora and fauna; grass sledging and a donkey pulling a milk churn cart.

The film begins with two boys sliding down a hill on strips of wood. The film shows the surrounding countryside, with a village in the distance, and the local vegetation and wildlife habitats. A man places a pint of milk between stones and puts a plank of wood over it. Farmers are out in the fields harvesting and raking crops. A pony pulls a milk churn along on a sledge with chickens running around. Lots of people, children among them, are helping to rake and stack the cut straw. A man pulls a cart along a village street with cars overtaking. Two cyclists have stopped to in the village green to check their map.
