Events recorded include a visit by Dr Thomas Knudsen to the South Tyneside Marine College in South Shields to see the Doxford Experimental Engine, visits to the Pallion Shipyard and Doxford's Old Works and a visit to Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum to see their new museum stores. The film also includes extracts of a number of BBC North East and Cumbria and Tyne Tees Television news items relating to the items on this film. There is a presentation made to Dr Knudsen by members of the group and their wives. The group pose for the camera. Title: Marine College Visit 10th August 2006 At the South Tyneside Marine College Dr Knudsen pulls a leave on a Doxford engine. Members and the Doxford Engines Friends Association looking around the workshop watched by a number of students. A younger couple pull the lever on another machine. The group walk around a derelict shipyard and quayside. Title: Beamish Europe’s Biggest Open Air Museum A visit by the group to Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum showing the shops in the Edwardian town from a tram. A BBC Look North news report of the Freemason's Hall and the myths that surround the organisation Title: D.E.F.A. Visit to PS Waverley June 2006. A journey aboard the paddle steamer PS Waverley as it travels around the Firth of Clyde in Scotland past a number of shipyards on the River Clyde. There are views on deck as well as inside including a visit to the engine room. Title: D.E.FA. Visit to Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute A brief film of people coming up a set of steps and a horse-drawn carriage on a driveway. Title: Visiting Group to Beamish. An escorted visit by the group around the new museums stores at Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum by John Clayson from Tyne & Wear Museums. Includes visit to the Doxford Experimental Engine which is stored at Beamish. The film cuts to a visit to the Ryhope Engine Museum near Sunderland where there are views of the pump house and chimney as well as the Victorian beam engine inside.
